The Caribbean side of Costa Rica has something special in the works. There
are over 55 nationalities living in harmony here. That means this is an
extremely multi-ethnic environment. This is a place full of artists, may
they be musicians, chefs, painters, potters, etc. The colors, textures,
smells and differences in backgrounds make this an extraordinary place.
Puerto Viejo is a city of fun and art. Arte Viva '06 will be taking place
29 & 30 September and 1 October in downtown Puerto Viejo. Arte Viva is a
combination of three festivals: music, art and food. Arte Viva is being
organized by local residents and a local non-profit organization, Asociacion
EDACS (Escuela de Artes del Caribe Sur).
During this special weekend you can enter the Casa de Cultura to view all
kinds of art. You can hear live bands on a stage by the bus stop. You can
taste gastronomic delights near the Feria de Agricultura. This will be a
very special weekend where the residents will come together to show how
special the Caribbean coast is.
Whether one is from Costa Rica, Italy, France, Argentina, Peru, Chile,
Switzerland or North America, their talents help make Arte Viva an event you
don't want to miss.
